MCNA's Green Initiative for 2017
MCNA's Green Initiative for 2017

MCNA is committed to being a responsible "green" company by offering our network providers solutions and technology-based innovations that help to streamline administrative processes and reduce the overall amount of waste generated.

Beginning June 1, 2017, MCNA will switch to electronic-only Remittance Advice (RA) documents that will be available to all providers through MCNA's Provider Portal. We will no longer mail paper RAs to your office. You may easily search for, view, save, and print your RAs from your Provider Portal account. All MCNA network providers have access to our free Provider Portal. If you have not already done so, please visit http://portal.mcna.net and click on "Register a New Account" to start using your Provider Portal account today.

We also recommend that you sign up for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) with us for faster payment of your claims. Please note, this is not required. After June 1, 2017, you will still be able to receive payments in the form of a paper check mailed to your office.

If you are unable to access MCNA's Provider Portal and need a paper copy of an RA, you can get one by calling our Provider Hotline at 1-855-698-6262 (8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday through Friday). Our Representatives can produce the document upon request and send it to your office. Please click here to view the informational flyer announcing this upcoming change.

The Benefits of Case Management with MCNA
The Benefits of Case Management with MCNA

MCNA's Case Management Unit assists with the coordination of care for members with special health care needs, members who are pregnant, and those with a catastrophic dental condition, which is defined as 10 or more teeth requiring treatment at one time. A Case Management Coordinator (CMC) works in cooperation with a member's family and/or caregiver(s) to assist with the coordination of dental health care that meets the member's unique needs.

Our CMCs can assist with the following:

  • Liaising between members and providers
  • Ensuring referrals to the dental provider(s) are completed that can accommodate the member's unique needs
  • Ensuring dental treatment and routine care occurs appropriately through ongoing monitoring (for example, reviewing pre-authorizations to ensure all proper documentation is attached for clinical review)
  • Coordinating transportation to and from dental visits with the appropriate vendor
