Save the Date: 2019 LDA Annual Session and New Orleans Dental Conference
The 2019 Louisiana Dental Association (LDA) Annual Session will take place May 9 - 11 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Orleans. This year's conference once again features all sessions, exhibits, and receptions under one roof. Pre-registration ends April 5 and includes discounted registration fees. There are also discounted rates available for lodging reservations made at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans once conference registration is complete. Using opioids to treat acute pain can lead to long-term use. According to a report released by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the likelihood of long-term use increases based on the length of the initial prescription, increasing sharply after the third and fifth days of taking a prescription and again at day 31. The American Dental Association's (ADA's) Statement on the Use of Opioids in the Treatment of Dental Pain makes recommendations for dentists about best practices to adopt when prescribing opioids for acute pain.
