Time is Running Out to get Meaningful Use Assistance
Time is Running Out to get Meaningful Use Assistance

The Iowa Medicaid Enterprise has partnered with Telligen to provide Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program and Meaningful Use (MU) assistance through June 30, 2017, for Iowa dentists participating in Medicaid. The EHR Incentive Program is a CMS incentive program designed to encourage eligible professionals, including dentists, and eligible hospitals to adopt, implement, upgrade (AIU), and demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology. If you have already received an EHR Incentive Program payment or have attested for the 2016 incentive year, you are eligible for assistance.

If you would like to request MU assistance, please contact Marlene Hodges by phone at 1-515-457-3707, or by email at mhodges@telligen.com.

Vigilant Verification: Check Member Eligibility at Every Appointment
Vigilant Verification: Check Member Eligibility at Every Appointment

Member eligibility varies daily. It is important for your office staff to verify an MCNA member's eligibility not only when scheduling an appointment but also on the day of the appointment. If member eligibility with MCNA is not verified before providing services, your claim may be denied if the member was not actually eligible on the date of service.

MCNA offers you several methods for verification. All methods listed below allow you to verify member eligibility 24 hours a day/7 days a week:

  • Electronically through MCNA's Online Provider Portal (http://portal.mcna.net)
  • By calling the MCNA Provider Hotline
  • By calling the MCNA Member Hotline

Please note that due to possible eligibility status changes, the information provided when you verify member eligibility does not guarantee payment of your claims.

MCNA strongly recommends using our Provider Portal to quickly and easily verify all member eligibility. Access your Provider Portal account at http://portal.mcna.net. Please call our Provider Hotline if you have a question about verifying member eligibility for an MCNA member.

National Cell Phone Courtesy Month - July
National Cell Phone Courtesy Month - July

Cell phones are great resources for communication, information, and entertainment, but they are easy to overuse in situations when person-to-person contact may be of more value. This July, observe National Cell Phone Courtesy Month by being mindful of your cell phone use and how it affects those around you. Here are a few tips to get you started:

  • Silence Smartphones: Silence your phone for meetings, meals, and important events like dates. Even better - turn them off completely! Let others know that they are your priority.
  • 10-foot Rule: Position yourself 10 feet away from windows and buildings when stepping outside to take a call. Keep your conversations private and avoid interrupting others.
  • The Cellular Crutch: Avoid automatically turning to your smartphone when entering a new or uncomfortable situation, like a new office or a wedding reception. Take time to engage with those around you in face-to-face conversation.
