Labor Day - September 7
Labor Day - September 7

Labor Day is celebrated each year on the first Monday in September in honor of the social and economic achievements of the American worker. We observe this holiday to recognize the contributions hard-working Americans have made at all levels to fuel the fires of our nation's prosperity. The first Labor Day was planned by the Central Labor Union and observed in New York City. Trade and labor organizations put on a street parade, followed by a festival attended by workers and their families.

Typically, this three-day weekend marks the end of the summer season, the kickoff of a fresh school year, and the start of football season. If you observe the rules of fashion, Labor Day weekend is also the last acceptable time to wear white.
