Smile Power Day - June 15
Smile Power Day - June 15

Smile Power Day is observed every year on June 15. Smiles can do wonders and are a powerful tool which can boost your team's morale, build confidence, and enhance the customer experience for your patients. The good thing about smiles is that they are contagious! Below are a few more superpowers of the smile:

  • Researchers from University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) recently concluded that smiling can make you look younger. Their research showed that when people smile, others perceive them as more youthful. Another study also showed that college students perceived older individuals who were smiling as younger than their actual age.
  • According to Behavioral Psychologist Sarah Stevenson, each time we smile our brain produces the hormones of happiness - dopamine, endorphin, and serotonin. These hormones also serve as natural pain relievers.
  • A new study conducted by researchers at Penn State University found that when we smile, we look more likeable, courteous, and competent.
