The Main Dental Home
The Main Dental Home

Texas defines a Main Dental Home (MDH) as the dental provider that supports an ongoing relationship with the client that includes all aspects of oral health care delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated, and family-centered way. A member can see his or her MDH Provider, or Main Dentist, at any location in which the provider is credentialed with MCNA.

A member can also see any MCNA-credentialed provider in the same "brick and mortar" facility in which his or her Main Dentist practices without changing the Main Dentist assignment. This only applies, however, to the facility where the member is assigned. For example, a ...

ADA Study finds COVID-19 Rate among Dentists Less Than 1%

A new study released by the American Dental Association Science & Research Institute and Health Policy Institute (ADASRI and HPI) found that less than 1% of dentists in the United States tested positive for COVID-19 as of June 2020. Researchers from ADASRI and HPIinvited dentists from all states and Puerto Rico to fill out a survey with COVID-19 questions, infection control procedures used in their dental practice, mental, and physical health conditions. There were 2,195 respondents to the survey and only 20 had a confirmed or probable COVID-19 infection. The results from the study indicate that the efforts to control the spread of the virus have been successful.

The American Dental Association (ADA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continue to strongly recommend the usage of masks, goggles, and face shields for all dental professionals. The ADA guidance also recommends ...
