Best Management Practices for Amalgam Waste

In 2017 the EPA adopted a federal rule which obligates many dental offices to install amalgam separators by July 14, 2020. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), while the deadline for dental offices to install separators has not been changed, there are accommodations being made due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initiated "a new temporary enforcement discretion policy" for the period of the pandemic, which can be found at: https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/epa-announces-enforcement-discretion-policy-covid-19-pandemic
