The American Dental Association (ADA) is offering resources that may help your office comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) amalgam separator final rule that went into effect July 14, 2017. The compliance date for the rule is July 14, 2020. On that date, most dental offices that place or remove amalgam must be compliant with all provisions of the rule. Refer to the ADA's best management practices regarding amalgam separators and waste management for guidance about best practices within your office.
