The ADA along with more than a hundred other trade organizations requested from the Senate Committee on Small Businesses and Entrepreneurship and the House Small Business Committee to smooth the forgiveness process for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans that are under $150,000. The coalition represents thousands of small businesses, banks, credit unions, and dental practices.
This new legislation will ensure that small business owners will be able to focus their time, energy, and resources solely to their businesses and communities. Currently, small business owners spend a significant amount of time completing complex forgiveness forms. If enacted this legislation will allow PPP participants to fill out a simple, one-page document to receive forgiveness of loans less than $150,000. The coalition also added that if this process is expedited, it will save more than $7 billion and hours of processing paperwork.
