The American Dental Association (ADA) has created the new ADA Dental Coding Certificate as an online resource to help dentists and their team members with code billing. The goal of this course is to ensure that dental professionals understand the science behind CDT codes and how to use them correctly. Coding experts launched this course in response to many coding questions that they have received over the years.

The course is structured into four interactive modules, which are accompanied by scenario-based learning to offer extensive practice identifying codes that apply to common procedures and treatments. These exercises give participants experience in the effective use of the CDT manual and its companion guide to find the right codes in real-world settings. The modules provide basic knowledge about key terms used in dental coding, the 12 service categories, and how codes are structured. All coursework is capped off by a comprehensive assessment, which presents the opportunity to earn four Continuing Education hours.
